Community Foundation

Teaching a Community Foundation's clients learn how to tell its stories through the power of video.

The brief.

Community Foundation supports charities in the North East of England by awarding grants every year.

I was asked to help its clients learn how to capture their incredible stories through the power of video.

A group of delegates were invited to Community Foundation's offices in Newcastle where they spent a fun and enjoyable day learning about smartphone video production.
"Sincere thanks for your video training course yesterday. I hope you enjoyed it as much as attendees."

The solution.

The team started the day learning how about the importance of having a video marketing strategy.

The group learned how to storyboard and structure a video in advance of shooting - an important step in speeding up the video editing process.

The team were then given a surprise practical exercise to complete - film and edit a short video for a fictional estate agent in Newcastle. They used a selection of inexpensive accessories (tripods, gimbals, microphones, and lights) to make their videos look more professional.

Finally, the group learned how to use simple mobile editing apps. Attendees learned how to import material, splice clips together, create graphics, add music and insert captions.

"Planning, filming and editing powerful videos are must-have skills for 2025. My smartphone video training courses are all about helping teams to develop the knowledge and confidence to #GetVisibleWithVideo".
